Department Overview
Child welfare plays an important role in today's society as to say that the level of Child welfare is an indicator of development of the society. With the belief that children should be respected and supported by both in healthy families and society, SCU's Department of Child Welfare is focused on training people who can meet the belief.
The department includes Child and Family Welfare, Child Welfare Policy, Child and Family Counseling, Child Education.
Special Features & Benefits
Graduates from the department will be awarded a second-grade social work license by the Ministry of Health and Welfare as well as a qualification to apply for a first-grade social work license.
The department offers courses for students to equip the capacity as professional child welfare practitioners, child care professionals, or child counseling professionals to support families and children with the values of family-centered practice. It also helps them to grow up as community practitioners who work with local communities and develop community resources and networks to support children.

- Child welfare specialist at various child welfare centers such as legal childcare facility, group homes, local children's center, Dream Start, Child abuse prevention center, Multicultural family support center, Health and Family support center, Child counseling institutions, Child-related international aid agencies

- Nursing teacher at childcare center with the license
