Music Therapy
Department Overview
The Music Therapy Department is a 4-year bachelor course for the education and training of music therapists.
Students admitted as freshman may take the 4-year course, and those who are admitted as transferees finish their given academic schedule.
Students may take the course through which they may be certified as a specialist who can provide development rehabilitation service depending on their future career path, or those who pursue diverse paths as music therapist may earn a bachelor’s degree in music therapy by optionally finishing courses as required.
All courses of the music therapy department are designed to foster capable music therapists who can enhance the mind and body of individuals using music.
Objectives of education
- To foster talents equipped with therapeutic ability and personality
- To foster creative talents who will lead the development of music therapy in our society
- To foster embracing talents equipped with cultural aptitudes and professional ethics
Career Opportunities upon Graduation
- To work at various institutes as music therapist (hospitals, private institutes, institutes operated by municipal governments, psychological counseling centers, welfare centers, senior citizens’ facilities, alternative schools, after-school classes or counselor at primary and junior high schools, private clinics, etc.)
- To participate in an open competition project by the central or municipal governments, private businesses, or profit or non-profit foundations
- To advance to graduate school at home and abroad
- Others - Operation of businesses related to music therapy, music program production, performance planning, music teacher, music instructor
