Department Overview

The department of Korean Language and Culture at Seoul Cyber University (SCU) is established to propagate the Korean language and culture to the world and to provide the adequate education for the foreign nationals. Ideally, the student at the department is disciplined to become the teacher of Korean language and culture at the international institutions in Korea and abroad. Therefore, the department’s curriculum is designed to teach the Korean language and culture from the perspective of the non-native Korean speaker.

The department is initially set out to produce the professional teachers of Korean language, following the Principle Act of Korean National Language. Furthermore, the student at the department will become qualified as the professionals on multicultural studies, as it is specified in the Act of Ministry of Justice. Eventually, the student is likely to be well-versed in the Korean and other multicultural studies.
