Drone & Robot Convergence
Major Overwiew
Drones/robots are a core platform of the 4th industry and are an aggregation of cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, autonomous flight, 3D printing, IoT, and big data.
With this, it can be used in all industries without proposals, such as filming, surveillance/reconnaissance, unmanned aerial vehicle delivery, disaster prevention, and facility inspection.
Students can become experts in drone robots by learning subjects related to drone operation, integrated design, and production technology as well as acquiring licenses through selecting subjects suitable for their career path.
Purposes and Objectives of Education
It is possible to advance into various application technology development fields due to its basic characteristics of mechanical, aviation, robot, electrical and electronic, and software technologies.
- Organization of specialized subjects for obtaining drone licenses in all courses. (ultra-light vehicle pilot, unmanned aerial vehicle pilot license, surveying and geospatial information industry engineer, drone education instructor, etc.)
- Organization of specialized subjects to enable acquisition of various 4th industrial technology licenses in one department. (3D printer operation, 2D/3D CAD, SW coding education instructor, etc.)
- Opportunity to study drone robot assignments and write papers on campus and off campus (private and national institutions).
- Personalized 1:1 real-time mentoring training guidance.
- Intensive application design expert course for drones and robots.
Career Opportunities upon Graduation
- Ultra-light flying device (unmanned aerial vehicle, unmanned helicopter, unmanned multicopter) pilot license, aviation radio operator, aviation industry engineer, surveying and geospatial information industry engineer, drone training instructor
- Development and operation of drones and robots in various fields such as industry, defense, service, agriculture, construction, delivery, logistics, and autonomous driving.
- Employed in various drone-related companies like non-commissioned officers (dronebot units), drone pilots, disaster monitoring security personnel, drone magazine aerial photography (broadcasting stations, newspapers, etc.), unmanned aerial vehicle control groups (drone agricultural cooperatives, etc.), drone-related companies (Korean Air, KAI, etc.).
- Admission to graduate school in related major.
