Features of the SCU WAVE Lecture Window
SCU Learning WAVE is an online educational platform, which utilizes LMS (Learning Management System), LCMS (Learning Content Management System), and LCDMS (Learning Content Development Management System) to optimize the learning environment for the student and the professor. Based on LMS, the student can engage in almost every activity that is expected to happen on offline campus. For instance, the student may perform a team work project and hold a discussion session. Furthermore, the student is able to participate in the lecture by watching the lecture video and inquire a question to the professor. Plus, the student can simply take the exam online. LCMS and LCDMS are both designed to improve the quality of lecture content by allowing the professor and the content developer to access to the lecture content and the lecture plan. SCU has named this new educational platform as SCU Learning WAVE with hope that the platform will pass a positive impact throughout the online educational institutions worldwide. In particular, SCU Learning WAVE has the 3 different features to maximize the student’s involvement in the lecture.
- In-class Discussion
the student can convene a discussion session during the lecture to substantiate the lecture materials and continue the lecture when the discussion is finished. By doing so, the student may move on from passively receiving the lecture content to actively leading the lecture with a great enthusiasm. Furthermore, the professor may also reflect the result of the student’s discussion on the lecture plan to focus on the student’s needs.
- Team Projects & Other Activities
SCU Learning WAVE allows the student to make progress from the in-class discussion towards the subsequent team projects and other activities. SCU Learning WAVE aims to facilitate the real offline class situation, where the student and the professor can interact and improvise a group activity to boost the educational engagement. Any student can be a leader of a project or discussion for the fellow student and the professor to join. Basically, SCU Learning WAVE encourages the student’s participation at best.
- Lecture Content at Student’s Finger Tips
SCU Learning WAVE has adopted the RIA (Rich Internet Application) technology to customize the lecture content to the student’s preference. As a result, the student can set up the color, position, size of the lecture content and hide the subtitle when unnecessary. SCU Learning WAVE is orientated towards providing the most favorable environment for the student’s learning.
