Special Lecture on English and American Art Songs by Professor Lee Yoon-jung, Voice Department - The event will take place at 3 PM on Sunday, October 27th, in Lecture Room 503 of Building A On Sunday, October 27th at 3 PM, a special lecture by the Voice Department will be held in Lecture Room 503 of Building A. The second session of the special lecture series planned by the Voice Department will be led by Professor Lee Yoon-jung, and a special lecture on English and American art songs, titled "Home Sweet Home: Exploring English and American Songs," is scheduled to take place. Professor Lee Yoon-jung graduated from the Vocal Department at Chung-Ang University. She gained recognition for her skills by performing lead roles in operas such as "The Lady of the Year," "Hansel and Gretel," "The Magic Flute," "Die Fledermaus," and "The Secret Marriage." Currently, she is a full-time professor in the Voice Department at the university and is active as a member of the British and American Vocal Research Society, the Spanish Song Research Society, and the Italian Vocal Society, guiding many students. This special lecture is for students who have registered for practical lessons and can be accessed through the student competency management system on the student portal. On the other hand, the preliminary round of the 2nd Seoul Cyber University Vocal Competition, titled “HIDDEN VOICE COMPETITION,” organized by the Voice Department, will take place on Thursday, October 3. This prestigious competition, featuring esteemed judges and boasting the largest prize money and numerous awards in the country, is anticipated to be the premier festival for all singing enthusiasts, including those who are not majoring in vocal music. The finals and award ceremony will occur on Wednesday, October 9, starting at 1 PM in Tchaikovsky Hall on the 4th floor of Building A. Established in 2018, the first online music college in Korea, the Voice Department offers tailored classes that combine offline and online instruction, enabling individuals with limited time to pursue their dreams of singing anytime, anywhere. The program provides online explanations on how to sing challenging foreign language songs, as well as courses in basic vocal techniques, ear training, stage movement that utilizes performance spaces, and a variety of general education classes. Additionally, students gain practical skills through essential online and offline courses, including one-on-one practical lessons, small group lessons, master classes, and content tailored to different levels. The department also offers expert instruction through the country’s top faculty and guest lectures from world-renowned vocalists. |
