Practical English Department Hosts Special Lecture on AI-Powered English Learning - Saturday, June 1st, at 1 PM, in Room 504, Building A  The Practical English Department will hold an offline special lecture on AI-powered English learning on Saturday, June 1st, starting at 1 PM. This newly established event, held for the first time this year by the Practical English Department, will feature Professor Kim Young-hee discussing "Starting English Learning with AI." It is open to current students and prospective applicants without prior registration. Professor Kim Young-hee, who will deliver the lecture, holds a master's degree in English Education and Applied Linguistics from the University of London, UK, and is ABD in Educational Technology at Seoul National University. She has served as an adjunct professor at Hanyang University and Catholic University and authored the AI research report for the Ministry of Science and ICT and NIA. She has also participated in various projects, including AI-based teaching and learning support systems for the Ministry of Education, RAPA's AI chatbot development, and the AI-based teaching and learning support platform for the Gyeongnam Office of Education. Lee Yang-sook, head of the Practical English Department, said, "We organized this special lecture to enhance English learning skills through the seamless interaction of AI technology and humans. I hope this lecture provides valuable insights and practical strategies for an enriching learning experience." The Practical English Department aims to strengthen competencies by integrating English proficiency with practical knowledge and to cultivate professionals and experts in English for the global digital era. It offers a variety of preparations for accredited English exams and specialized programs including TESOL, teaching English to children, business English, and translation. Graduates can enter diverse fields requiring English proficiency. |
